Professional Identity Proofing
Referred to as “Verify Doctor Identity” in our enrollment process, professional identity proofing involves a 10-15 minute phone call utilizing Knowledge-Based Authentication (KBA). This is performed to prove the identity of someone accessing a service such as Electronic Prescription. KBA requires the knowledge of private information of the individual to prove that the person providing the identity information is the owner of the identity. Examples of questions asked are if you ever lived at a certain address, or the bank where you have a mortgage or car loan.
PMP/PDMP
Prescription Monitoring Program (PMP) or Prescription Drug Monitoring Program (PDMP) are state-run databases that list a patient’s controlled substances prescription history. In most states, adding PMP/PDMP to your subscription allows the user to access the report directly from the iCoreRx software without the need to log into the state website. Offices that request this integration are required to fill out forms and have credentials issued to them.
EPCS
Electronic Prescription of Controlled Substances. Providers that prescribe controlled substances electronically are required by the DEA to register themselves in the software. During this registration process, a 2nd Identity Proofing is performed.
Hardware Token
A token is a small electronic device that is sent to each Provider. It is used to automatically display One-Time Passcodes (OTP) that are used when sending prescriptions for Controlled Substances to Pharmacies.
Authy App
Authy is an App that is loaded on the Provider’s Smartphone (Apple or Samsung) and is used as an alternate way to receive a One-Time Passcode (OTP).
